Who we are

The Homeopathy Working Group was created in November 2009 for the purpose of providing ongoing education and support for veterinarians who have had some classroom training in the basic principles of classical homeopathy and are beginning to practice.  Because internships and mentoring programs are not yet readily available, new veterinary homeopaths often find themselves adrift.  We have noticed that without guidance during this critical time, many become discouraged or develop bad habits. We also notice that beginners tend to have trouble with the same set of principles and that this results from the difficulty in translating theory into practice.

The Group: Members are all AVH-certified homeopaths, each with at least 12 years of clinical experience in veterinary homeopathy. Current members include Drs.  Stephanie Chalmers, Jeff Feinman, Judy Herman and Henrietta Beaufait. Dr. Richard Pitcairn is an advisory member.

What we are offering

In order to make continuing education affordable and accessible, we are using the Webinar format. Our first course is called “Clinical Cases in Veterinary Homeopathy”. We will present our clinical cases as a means of demonstrating the principles of homeopathy. We will break down each case and discuss each of the steps of practice. The course is ongoing: we will work one case after another, so that students will gradually develop an experiential understanding of homeopathic principles. The course will evolve according to the need of the participants.

We plan to develop future courses that may include topics such as acute prescribing and Organon study. Though we will utilize the Webinar format for most of our courses, we also hope to develop seminars that can be presented at the AVH Annual Conference.
